Outstanding and unusual, the large substantial leaves open a wonderful coral-red and darken to a rich red-brown. The variegation does not show up until mid-summer when these dark leaves are sprinkled with bright green irregular spots, like green sand sprinkled on a mahogany surface. Mid-ribs and branchlets are also bright green. Slow-growing, stocky structure. Very interesting branching pattern.
